PREPARING THE DEVICE

UNPACKING

The following steps must be performed before using the device:

1. Open packaging box, remove BlazeHunter XD and check the contents:
   • Thermal monocular
   • Battery - 2 pcs
   • Battery Charger
   • Camera Pouch
   • Type-C Cable
   • User Manual
   • Lens cloth
   • Warranty card
2. Make sure that nothing is missing.
3. Inspect the device for damage to optical surfaces, body, eyecups, operation buttons, etc.
4. Ensure that all optical surfaces are clean and ready for use.

NOTE:
If any accessories are missing or broken contact ATN’s Customer Service at 1.800.910.2862.

CHARGING THE DEVICE

The start bar will display battery information after the Camera starts. When the battery is low, charge the Camera timely to make sure the normal function.

• When charging the Camera, keep the battery temperature 0 °C to +60 °C (+32 °F to +140 °F). Otherwise the charging function will be automatically disabled.
• Charge the Camera with the Type-C data cable that comes with the delivery.

STEP 1. Open the sealing cover of the Type-C port when charging.

STEP 2. Connect the Type-C cable to the Type-C port to charge the Camera.

The charging indicator states:

• Red light on: charging.
• Green light on: fully charged.
• Off: not connected to data cable to charge.

ON/OFF

Press and hold the power button to start or shut down the Camera; press the power button to suspend or wake up the Camera.

NOTE:
After starting the Camera, remove the protective cover of the lens.

• When the Camera is off, press and hold the power button to start it.
• When the Camera is on, press and hold the power button to shut down it.
• When the Camera is on, press the power button to suspend the Camera.
• When the Camera is in suspend mode, press the power button to wake up it.

FIRMWARE UPDATE

Ensure the firmware is up-to-date for optimal performance. Available updates can be found at https://www.atncorp.com/firmware.

1. Preparing for the Update

• Ensure the device battery level is at least 50%.

NOTE:
Power Off the device before beginning the update process.

2. Transferring the Update File

1. Connect the device to a PC or notebook using a USB cable.
2. Power On the device.
3. Navigate to: Menu -> Settings -> USB Data Transfer.
4. Select “Storage” mode to access the device’s internal memory.
5. Copy the update (.bin) file to the USB drive.
6. Once the file transfer is complete, return to Menu -> Settings -> USB Data Transfer and select ‘Off’, or safely remove the USB cable.

3. Installing the Update

1. Reboot the device.
2. After the device powers on, a confirmation message “Confirm Update” will appear.
3. Press “Yes” to start the update process.

IMPORTANT:
If “Storage” mode is selected and the USB cable is still plugged in, the update message will not appear. Disconnect the USB cable before rebooting. NOTE:
After the update, the device may display a “Backup” message on the screen for a short period. This is normal and does not require user action.

INTERFACE

MAIN OPERATIONS

OPERATION WITH KEYPAD

1. POWER BUTTON

• Press and hold to start or shut down the Camera.
• Press to enable or disable the suspend mode.

2. UP BUTTON

• Press and hold to record videos.
• Press to capture images.

For devices with laser range finder:

• Press to enable the laser ranging mode.
• Press and hold to record videos.

CAUTION:
Laser can cause damages to eyes. Do not look directly at the laser beam or observe the beam with optical devices when the laser is on. NOTE:
Make sure that you have set the laser ranging mode before enabling the function. For detail, see “Setting Laser Ranging”. The ranging function is only available when the distance is longer than 10 m.

3. MENU BUTTON

• Press and hold to enter the main menu.
• Press to select the color palettes.

4. DOWN BUTTON

• Press and hold to manually adjust the shutter.
• Press for digital zoom.

5. UP BUTTON + MENU BUTTON

This function is only available on the models with Laser Range Finder.

• Press the two buttons at the same time to capture images.

FUNCTIONS

CONFIGURING THE CAMERA

MENU DESCRIPTION

When the Camera is on, press and hold MENU BUTTON to enter the main menu. Functions of all buttons are as follows:

• UP BUTTON: Move cursor upward. NOTE:
  For cameras with LRF, use the UP BUTTON to move the cursor.
• DOWN BUTTON: Move cursor downward.
• MENU BUTTON: Confirm selection.
• POWER BUTTON (Press and hold): Exit menu.

DISPLAY

SETTING STATUS BAR DISPLAY

1. On the main menu, press UP BUTTON or DOWN BUTTON to select DISPLAY.
2. Navigate to STATUS BAR and press MENU BUTTON to enable or disable it.

SETTING SCREEN BRIGHTNESS

Adjusts the overall screen brightness. Higher levels make the screen brighter.

1. On the main menu, press UP BUTTON or DOWN BUTTON to select DISPLAY.
2. Use UP BUTTON or DOWN BUTTON to go to SCREEN BRIGHTNESS and press the MENU button to adjust the brightness level.

SETTING CONTRAST

You can set the contrast. The higher the level is, the more the contrast will be between bright and dark areas.

1. On the main menu, press UP BUTTON or DOWN BUTTON to select Contrast.
2. Press MENU BUTTON to select the contrast level.

IMAGE ADJUSTMENT

ADJUSTING DIOPTER

To get clear images, rotate the diopter adjustment knob to fit your eyesight.

NOTE:
For the first time use, adjust the diopter before configuring other functions.

1. Aim the lens at a target and bring your eye close to the eyeshade.
2. Adjust the knob clockwise or counterclockwise until the display icons are sharp.

ADJUSTING FOCUS

Rotate the focusing ring to get a clear view (only available on models with adjustable lenses).

1. Aim the thermal lens at the target.
2. Adjust the focusing ring until the image is clear.

NOTE:
During the adjustment, do not touch the lens to avoid smudging it; otherwise it may affect the image quality.

SETTING COLOR PALETTES

Select the color palettes, which adds color to the thermal image and uses color to indicate the temperature.

On the viewing screen, press MENU BUTTON to open the MENU and from there use the UP BUTTON and DOWN BUTTON to select DISPLAY. Once in the DISPLAY menu, use the UP BUTTON or DOWN BUTTON to select PALETTES and press the MENU BUTTON to select it. The available palettes are:

• White Hot: The objects with high temperature are white. The higher the temperature, the brighter the color.

  

• High Red: The objects with high temperature are red. The objects can stand out.

  

• Ironbow: The objects with high temperature are red. The higher the temperature, the brighter the color.

  

• Black Hot: The objects with high temperature are black. The higher the temperature, the darker the color.

  

• Sepia: The objects with high temperature are brown. The higher the temperature, the brighter the color.

  

• Green Hot: The objects with high temperature are green. The higher the temperature, the brighter the color.

  

SETTING DIGITAL ZOOM

Digital zoom helps to zoom in the image.

On the viewing screen, press DOWN BUTTON to do digital zoom, and the image changes.

SETTING THE SCENE MODE

Adjusts scene mode in accordance with the user’s preference.

1. On the main menu, use the UP BUTTON or DOWN BUTTON to select SCENE MODE.
2. Select the desirable scene mode.

VIDEO AND SNAPSHOT

RECORDING VIDEOS

On the viewing interface, press UP BUTTON and hold for 3 seconds to start recording a video. The recording icon flashes on the screen and the recording time is display.

Press and hold UP BUTTON again for 3 seconds to stop the recording. When the recording stops, the recording time will display normally.

CAPTURING IMAGES

• Without LRF: Short press UP BUTTON.
• With LRF: Short press UP + MENU BUTTONS simultaneously.

EXPORTING FILES

1. Connect the Camera to the computer via Type-C cable.
2. Select Storage on the USB Mode screen.
3. Open My Computer → locate the Camera disk → Copy files.

NOTE:
Connect cables before starting the Camera. Do not hot-swap. Recording/capturing functions are disabled while connected to a PC.

AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN

1. Navigate to SETTINGS → Automatic shutdown after inactivity.
2. Press MENU BUTTON to set the time.
3. The device will first enter suspend mode, then shut down automatically if no buttons are pressed.

SETTINGS

SETTING HOT POINT

Tracks the point with the highest temperature in real time.

• On the main menu, use the UP BUTTON and DOWN BUTTON to select Hot Point.
• Press MENU BUTTON to enable or disable it.

After enabling, icons will automatically locate at the point with the highest temperature in the image.

STADIAMETRIC RANGE FINDER

(Only for models without Laser Range Finder)

The stadiametric range finder measures distance to 4 preset target types.

NOTE:
To guarantee measurement accuracy, keep your hand steady when measuring the range.

1. On the main menu, select STADIAMETRIC RANGE FINDER.
2. Press UP or DOWN BUTTON to move the blue lines to the top and bottom of the target.

Example Distances:

• Rabbit: 7 m | Jackal: 20 m | Wild Boar: 22 m | Deer: 33 m

SETTING LASER RANGING (LRF)

(Only for models with Laser Range Finder)

CAUTION:
Laser can cause damages to eyes. Do not look directly at the laser beam or observe it with optical devices.

Factors Influencing Ranging:

• Target Reflectivity: High reflectivity targets can be measured up to 1,800 m; low reflectivity (animals/trees) up to 600 m.
• Target Shape: Small or uneven targets decrease ability.
• Measuring Environment: Rain, fog, snow, and haze reduce performance.

Using LRF:

1. On the main menu, select Laser Range Finder.
2. Choose a mode:
   • Once: Measures the distance one time on press.
   • Continue: Continuously measures the distance for 15 seconds.

SETTING WI-FI CONNECTION

1. Enable Wi-Fi: Long press Menu → Navigate to Wi-Fi → Enable.
2. Install App: Download ATN Blaze from App Store or Google Play.
3. Connect:
   • Tap "Connect New Device" → "Connect to BlazeHunter XD".
   • Tap "Read SSID from QR Code" and scan the code on the back of the lens cover.
   • Enter Password: 12345678.

Wi-Fi Specs: 2.4 GHz band, 20 dBm transmitted power.

SETTING LANGUAGE

1. Go to SETTINGS → LANGUAGE.
2. Press DOWN BUTTON to select your language.
3. Press MENU BUTTON to save and exit.

SETTING DPC (Dead Pixels Correction)

Corrects defective pixels on the thermal sensor.

1. Go to DISPLAY → Dead Pixel Correction.
2. Choose a mode:
   • Auto: Select Auto, press Menu, and close the lens cover when prompted.
   • Manual: Use X-axis/Y-axis to move the cursor over the dead pixel, then hold Menu to save.
   • Restore: Returns DPC to factory state.

The Main Menu provides access to the core parameters and operational modes of the device. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to navigate and the MENU button to confirm your selection.

Parameter	Description
LRF Mode	Allows the user to select the mode for measuring the distance to a target. NOTE: Only available on devices equipped with a Laser Range Finder (LRF).
Stadiametric RF	Enables distance measurement based on target height using one of four preset target types. NOTE: Only available on models without a LRF.
Image Brightness	Allows the user to change the image brightness.
Contrast	Allows the user to change the image contrast.
Sharpness	Allows the user to change the image sharpness.
WiFi	Allows the user to select the mode of operation of the WiFi module or turn it off.
Settings	Allows the user to enter the Settings Menu.
Display	Allows the user to enter the Display Menu.
Hot point	Enables a marker that identifies the hottest point on the currently observed scene.
NUC	Allows the user to select non-uniformity correction (automatic, manual) or perform it immediately.
Scene mode	Allows the user to select a scene mode which fits better to the observed environment.
Device and WiFi info	Displays information about the device firmware and current WiFi status.

SETTINGS MENU

The Settings Menu contains system-level configurations including power management, connectivity, and localization options.

Table 4.1.10 Settings Parameters

Parameter	Description
Standby mode after inactivity	Allows the user to set a timer for the device to go into low-power stand-by mode after a period of inactivity.
Automatic shutdown after inactivity	Allows the user to set a timer for the device to power off completely after a period of inactivity.
USB data transfer	Enables or disables data transfer through the USB Type-C port. Set to Storage to access internal files on a computer.
Rangefinder units	Allows the user to toggle distance units between meters and yards.
Date format	Allows the user to set the preferred format for date and time display.
Set date and time	Allows the user to manually adjust the device's internal clock and calendar.
Set Password	Allows the user to customize the Wi-Fi security password.
Language	Changes the interface language for all menus.
Set to default	Resets all device configurations to their factory state. NOTE: This operation will restore the device to default configuration. Please be careful as custom settings will be lost.

• Lens Safety: Never aim the lens at the sun or any other intense light source, as this will damage the sensor.
• Battery & Charging:
  • Improper battery use or replacement may result in an explosion hazard.
  • Do not charge other battery types with the supplied charger.
  • Ensure no flammable material is within 2 m of the charger during operation.
• Power Safety: Ensure the plug is properly connected. Do not overload power adapters by connecting multiple devices to a single unit.
• Emergency Protocol: If smoke, odor, or noise arises, immediately turn off the power, unplug the device, and contact a service center.
• Maintenance: Do not dismantle the Camera. Unauthorized disassembly voids the warranty and may cause water ingress or poor image quality.
• Operating Limits: Temperature –30 °C to +55 °C (–22 °F to +131 °F); Humidity ≤95% RH.
• Cleaning:
  • Power off the device before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a neutral detergent; never use volatile solvents like alcohol, benzene, or abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION: Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in permanent damage to the device!

3 YEAR PRODUCT WARRANTY

This product is guaranteed to be free from manufacturing defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of 3 (three) years from the date of purchase.

If a covered defect arises, ATN, at its option, will either repair or replace the product. This represents the full extent of ATN’s liability and the Customer’s sole remedy.

This warranty does not cover products:

• Used in other than their normal and customary manner.
• Subjected to misuse, alterations, modifications, or unauthorized repairs.
• Sold “as-is,” close-out merchandise, or discontinued items.
• Damaged by improper storage, handling, or use with incompatible equipment.

This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser. All implied warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are expressly disclaimed.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

ATN will not be liable for any claims, costs, or damages arising out of the use of this product. Operation and use are the sole responsibility of the Customer.

• ATN’s liability shall not exceed the fees paid for the product.
• ATN shall not be liable for special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost income or profit.

PRODUCT WARRANTY REGISTRATION

This product is guaranteed to be free from manufacturing defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of 3 (three) years from the date of purchase. In the event a defect that is covered by the foregoing war- ranty occurs during the applicable period stated above, ATN, at its option, will either repair or replace the product, and such action on the part of ATN shall be the full extent of ATN’s liability, and the Customer’s sole and exclusive remedy. This warranty does not cover a product (a) used in other than its normal and customary manner; (b) subjected to misuse; (c) subjected to alterations, mod- ifications or repairs by the Customer or by any party other than ATN without prior written consent of ATN; (d) special order or “close-out” merchandise or merchandise sold “as-is” by either ATN or the ATN dealer; or (e) merchandise that has been discontinued by the manufacturer and either parts or replace- ment units are not available due to reasons beyond the control of ATN. ATN shall not be responsible for any defects or damage that in ATN’s opinion is a result from the mishandling, abuse, misuse, improper storage or improper operation, including use in conjunction with equipment which is electrically or mechanically incompatible with or of inferior quality to the product, as well as failure to maintain the environmental conditions specified by the manufac- turer. This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser. Any breach of this warranty shall be waived unless the customer notifies ATN at the address noted below within the applicable warranty period.

The customer understands and agrees that except for the foregoing war- ranty, no other warranties written or oral, statutory, expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, shall apply to the product. All such implied warranties are hereby and expressly disclaimed.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

ATN will not be liable for any claims, actions, suits, proceedings, costs, expenses, damages or liabilities arising out of the use of this product. Opera- tion and use of the product are the sole responsibility of the Customer. ATN’s sole undertaking is limited to providing the products and services outlined herein in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement. The provision of products sold and services performed by ATN to the Customer shall not be interpreted, construed, or regarded, either expressly or implied, as being for the benefit of or creating any obligation toward any third party of legal entity outside ATN and the Customer; ATN’s obligations under this Agreement extend solely to the Customer. ATN’s liability hereunder for damages, regard- less of the form or action, shall not exceed the fees or other charges paid to ATN by the customer or customer’s dealer. ATN shall not, in any event, be liable for special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including, but not limited to, lost income, lost revenue, or lost profit, whether such damages were foreseeable or not at the time of purchase, and whether or not such dam- ages arise out of a breach of warranty, a breach of agreement, negligence, strict liability or any other theory of liability

PRODUCT WARRANTY REGISTRATION

In order to validate the warranty on your product, ATN must receive a com- pleted Product Warranty Registration Card for each unit or complete warranty registration on our website at www.atneu.com. Please complete the included form and immediately mail it to our Service Center: ATN Europe LTD 1588 Sofia Bulgaria ul. “Okolovrasten pat” 456B Inter Logistic Park.

OBTAINING WARRANTY SERVICE

To obtain warranty service on your unit, End-user must notify ATN service department by calling +359 32570140 or via e-mail support@atneu.com to receive a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA).

The return of the device is organized by an ATN employee. A service RMA form must be printed and attached in the box. Product merchandise returns that do not have an RMA listed may be refused or a significant delay in processing may occur.

Estimated Warranty service time is 10-20 business days. End-user/customer is responsible for postage to ATN for warranty service. ATN will cover return postage/shipping to end-users/customers after warranty repair only if product is covered by aforementioned warranty. ATN will return product after warranty service by domestic UPS ground and/or domestic mail. Any other requested, required or international shipping method the postage/shipping fee will be the responsibility of the end-ser/customer.

BATTERY

• The improper use or replacement of the battery may result in explosion hazard. Replace with the same battery type only.
• The removable battery is 2 cells of type 18650. The rated voltage is 3.6 VDC.
• Use only batteries provided by a qualified manufacturer
• DO NOT place the device near heating or fire source. Avoid leaving the device on heated surfaces under direct sunlight.
• DO NOT place the device within the reach of children.
